Oh boy! Another generic energy drink! 8D
I wonder what new oddities this can bring to the market....
Apparently they've won The Queen's Awards For Enterprise International Trade 2009-2011
But I've never heard of this....
There's nothing eye-catching about the can, just the usual thing. Again, this was found in the Polish supermarket (Man, I love that shop)
So here we go again, let's hope it's something different to the vast array of generic drinks there already are....
Smells slightly better than the usual energy drink, somewhat more fruity
As for the taste.... There isn't much of one, it's a bit watery tasting. I guess that's good compared to some which have really overpowering flavours. This is kind of easygoing. It's not bad for the price, but neither is any other generic drink out there
So, to summarise, it's pretty much the same thing as the million other energy drinks except it's not as strong tasting

Roys Çilekli kek
It's been a while, Blogger....
Well, about a week....
I've bought so much stuff to review the past week, but I've ended up eating it all anyway, haha. I'm such a pig sometimes.... Anywho, back to the reviews
Today there sits a cake from the Polish shop in front of me. Thirty nine pence it cost me. Here's a picture
It looks pretty good. I had no idea what it was when I bought it, the packaging caught my eye, but when I got home, I read the packaging and it says "Cocoa coated strawberry cream cake". Sounds guuurrrddd
So, it looks kind of melty, but it was in the boot of my car for at least half an hour and it's been really sunny (I know! Sun! In England! Crazy....)
There's even chocolate on the bottom, so I'm guessing you have to pick it up with the sides, but there's not much room for error. This isn't designed for people with sausage fingers....
It smells strawberry-ish and vanilla-ish, but not very chocolatey
The sponge is a bit dense, not really light and fluffy, but it has a nice vanilla taste to it. The chocolate isn't very noticeable *sad face*
Let's get a bit with jam in.... Hmmm.... It doesn't taste of much, only just at the back of the flavour *sad face again*
I was looking forward to the jammy bit :(
Overall, it's kind of stodgy and makes your fingers sticky, but it's not bad for the price I paid. A tad flavourless, but....

DG Jamaica Strawberry Soda
Here's a drink I found on the Afro-Caribbean stall in the market up town
There isn't many strawberry fizzy drinks around, so I thought I'd try this. Fanta Strawberry was a big let down when I tried it (I didn't review it though), it was all syrupy and really sweet
I also picked up a grape can and they were 65p each. A bit steep for a 330ml can, but I'm guessing it's imported, so it's not all that bad
It smells promising....
It tastes.... Just ok....
But it's a lot better than the Fanta strawberry. It's not overly sweet and syrupy, but it still is quite sweet. It tastes kind of artificial too
I probably won't buy it again unless it was really cheap (say, 20 or 30 pence)
It's not that it's a bad drink, it's just nothing special....

Yesterday I popped into the Polish supermarket again to see what I could found. I grabbed so much, I had to get a friend to help carry it all (I didn't pick up a basket. But then again, I don't think they have any)
I can find a picture of an English (American?) version, but not the ones I found, so here's a picture for your eyes (I've bought a new camera recently)
After a bit of research, I've found out these are a German product and are made by the same company as Werther's Originals (I never knew that was German....)
The entire packaging is in Polish, but you can guess what flavours they are from the pictures. The top one is cherry and banana and the bottom one looks like apple and melon
They look a bit like Maoams or something
Let's try the cherry and banana first. Simply because I can't say I've ever heard of that combination before and I'm not the biggest fan of banana ever
It's instantly banana-ish and not so much cherry-ish. But it's a nice banana flavour. It's pretty good
Now the melon and apple....
This one's good. Really melon-ish, but you can still taste the apple underneath
They're moderately soft, but you need to work them around before you can chew them easily, but they're not bad for what I paid for them (about 25p per pack)

Jack Link's Chicken Bites Flamin' Buffalo Style
These were picked up in B&M. They sounded really good so I bought 8 packs without even knowing what they're like, haha
At 29p a packet, you can't go wrong. But I was surprised to see something like this not in a fridge. It says on the pack they don't need to be refrigerated as well, but I put them in the fridge when I got home anyway. The pack I have with me, however, isn't from the fridge. I took them to work for my break but I didn't end up eating them, so they're a bit warm
Now, I like chicken. I like spicy food even more (Damn, I could've got some spicy chicken from Asda today....), so these sounded awesome to me. Let's open them up, shall we?
There's a little sachet to suck up any moisture, so don't try and sprinkle it everywhere thinking it's salt or you'll end up not feeling too well. They smell kind of funny and off, but at the same time, pleasantly warm and spicy. They're not too big, just enough for a bite, like the name says.
Mmmm... They're kind of dry and tough, but they have a really nice taste to them. It's only mildly spicy (I always thought Buffalo was a really hot flavour?) I can't quite tell what's in it, but it's great either way
You only get a handful of decent size pieces and then there's a load of straggly bits at the bottom, but they're just as good if not better due to the fact they're not as tough
I really like these, I think they're great :D
If you see any, they're definitely worth trying out ;)

Thermo Booster Cool Blue
I popped into JTF today (It's a discount warehouse shop) and saw this by the tills along with a red flavour (I got one of them too)
I've never heard of this before, nor have I heard of QNT. And the same goes for cool blue flavour....
Maybe it's minty?
So this is a caffeiney energy drink, but blue. Something I've never seen before. Besides Powerade, but I don't think that has caffeine in, does it? Either way, it's an odd colour for an energy drink. I'm interested to see what flavour it is. It has an awesome colour
Swig time approaches us....
Well... That's an odd flavour... It's definitely fruity, but kind of bitter tasting. The label states it contains sweeteners, but.... It can't.... It's too bitter for that to be possible. I think it's a blue raspberry kind of taste, but I'm not entirely sure on this, to be honest. For 99p, I guess it's a decent price for the amount you get, but the taste you get.... I'm not gonna recommend it
But in all honesty, it's handy being in a sports bottle. Cans aren't resealable (besides that No Fear drink)

Poult Tartelettes À La Framboise
Here's yet another thing I picked up at B&M. I bought two packs for 39p each
When I picked them up, I thought they were just jam tarts (The text is French, a language I can't speak besides the odd word), but in fact they're biscuits with raspberry jam in the middle. They sound pretty good, in my opinions. Eight in a pack
They're roughly two inches in diameter
Time to try one.... The biscuit is really crumbly and tastes fairly coconuty. The jam has a strong flavour to start off with but then it dies down and all you an taste is coconut. I'm not a big fan of coconut, to be honest
They're not bad for the price I paid, and I could eat two packs and maybe buy another if I w ent back there and there was some in stock. But I wouldn't be bothered at all if there wasn't any around

Suso Tropical Fizz
Here's another thing I picked up at B&M
I've seen these before but in the thin 250ml cans. They used to be 99p a pop :o
But this was 29p for a 330ml can, bargain ;)
It's a sexy looking can, along with the others in the range
So this is the tropical flavour and it has 60% juice, carbonated and no added sugar. Sounds good so far. I have high hopes for this. If it's good, I might go back and get some more. On the back it says the fruits inside are grape, apple, orange, lemon, acerola (what the hell is that?), mango, passion fruit and pineapple
It should be better than the LOL drink I tried the other day
So now it's time to crack it open straight from the fridge.... Oh yeah....
It's the usual tropical juice colour, yellowy orange. It smells kind of like Lilt too....
It tastes kind of watered down and weak, but besides that, it's pretty good. Really tropical tasting and not just mostly orange like most tropical juice drinks
If they put less water in, it'd be a definite nine out of ten, but at the moment I can only give it a even out of ten. But well worth the 29p I paid for it. If there's a B&M near you or a similar discount warehouse type shop, have a look for them in there ;)

Barr Strike Energy
I've not long got back from town today, and whilst up there, I popped into B&M to see what bargains they had. They usually sell things a lot cheaper than the RRP. Like this drink says 49p on the can, but they were selling them for 3 for a quid or 39p each. Not bad, eh? I bought six ;) Let's hope they're ok
Aarrrrr, thar be a picture for ye, jim lad
Striking appearance for Strike Energy, don't you think? I'm digging the whole red on black look. It really caught my eye in the shop. On the back it says "Carbonated mixed flavour energy drink with added taurine, caffeine and vitamins"
Mixed flavour? Mixed what? Mixed elephants? Mixed chairs? Mixed fruit? Personally I'm hoping for elephant. That'd be different
So it has the usual caffeine content, ie. 30mg per 100ml ad these cans are 330ml
Thinking about it, I don't think I've ever seen an energy drink in this size, they're usually either 250ml or half litres
I put this is the fridge a few minutes ago, but I'm doubting it's been chilled enough. It's a nasty, hot, muggy day today
Time to pour it into a glass
It's the usual colour and has the usual smell. It tastes really sweet and kind of.... what is that.... pineapple? It's slightly tropical compared to the usual bog-standard taste of these kind of drinks. Also a bit syrupy
But it's allll gooooddd

Moshi Monsters Fruity Yummy Gummies
I have no idea what Moshi Monsters are, but I see them all the time in Asda. I think it's some game website? Pfffff, dunno
I think it's aimed at younger kids (I probably looked a bit odd buying these at Asda, haha) by the pictures of the cute animal things on the front and just the general feel of it. I'm imagining these are basically the average old gummy sweet just in the shape of these monster things. The pack feels half empty (what a surprise)
After opening the bag, I've counted 11 sweet about the size of a 2p coin and about just under a centimetre thick maybe. Some are all gummy, some have a foam bit on the back and some are just the foamy bits. The shapes only just resemble something, they just look like malformed blobs and one looks like a turd. Ah well, maybe they taste better. They look nothing like what they do on the pack
All I can smell is cola flavouring. Let's try this charcoal-black looking gummy cat thing. It stands out from all the others which are orangey-yellow colours. Now, I have no idea what flavour this is supposed to be. A very nasty blackcurrant flavour? It's not too nice either way. There's also a brown foamy sweet and a pink one. The brown one is cola (ugh) and the pink one is funny bubblegum flavour. There's also orange and brown foamy-backed gummies. I'm not to sure what the brown one is and the orange one is what I'm guessing is orange. It's kind of weak
The ones left are only an off-pinky-orange, brown and yellow gummies. I guess I better try these ones too. What a wide variety of colours.... The off pink one is a pear flavour. And not a nice pear flavour too. The brown one is, yup, cola. And last but not least, the yellow one is lemon
So overall, not the best of flavours but has a somewhat attractive packaging and I think this Moshi Monster thing is pretty big with the younger kids, so it's more aimed towards them and you know what kids are like....

LOL Razz Bri
What a great name, eh? Haha
I think it's pretty obvious by the feel of the name and picture what demographic group this is aimed at. It's a fizzy 75% fruit juice drink with no added sugar\colours\sweeteners\caffeine\crap and so on. I'm guessing it's for younger kids as an alternative to sugary carbonated drinks like Fanta or energy drinks. But the thing is, fruit juice is nearly as bad as other drinks for sugar, aren't they?
There were two other flavours on sale in Asda, but I'll review them at a later date (EDIT: I've actually already drank these, haha. I give them a 6 out of 10 for both). They were all a pound a piece (a bit steep if you ask me), but these really caught my eye and sound pretty good. The name and flavour is even written how little kids write online :o
Yay! Bad spelling! Haha
It's a pretty cool looking can albeit it a bit gimmicky, but hey, let's pop this beast open and wreak havoc upon my innards. Oh wait, I can't, it's crap free >:I
It smells really strong of raspberry (even though it's only 2% raspberry juice. The other 73% is apple juice. It's the same with the other flavours). A really nice smell
:O Guess what I've just realised? I've finally found something which is raspberry flavour using real raspberry and it's not blue!!!!!! There is a god!
But anywho, It's only mildly fizzy and doesn't taste as strong as it smells, it's kind of weak. I'm sure I can detect a slight bit of ginger or something similar too? I don't know....
Overall, it's pretty good, but I feel it's selling more on a gimmick than the actual product. Maybe this will be the new thing I'm going to be picking up in the car park at work when the school kids go back after the holidays
If you see it fairly cheap, give it a go. I give it eight and a half out of ten ;)

Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews
These were picked up in Truro while I was down Cornwall visiting the missus from a small sweet shop by the cathedral
Now, unfortunately I didn't get a single apple on in the box I bought. What the hell?!?!
But ah well, Apple isn't my favourite flavour ever
But other than apple, the flavours are cherry, watermelon and red raspberry
No, just kidding, it's blue raspberry
I've had various Jolly Rancher sweets before, so I know they're pretty decent
I also have a bag of hard ones, but they'll be reviewed some other day
So let's start with the watermelon flavour. It's in a pale-ish pink wrapper and the chew itself is a funny pink-ish-slightly-orange colour. It's fairly sticker and there's always remnants of the wrapper stuck to it.This flavour is pretty sweet. It does't taste like what I remember watermelon tastes like (I haven't had it in a long time), but it's a nice flavour. Kind of refreshing and cool, not too hard on the ol' taste buds. The texture is fairly soft and when you chew, you accumulate a fair bit of juice in your mouth.
Then onto the blue raspberry. This one's in a blue wrapper and is blue itself (what a surprise). The taste is pretty strong and has a slight tang to it, in my opinion. It's the usual blue raspberry flavour but a bit stronger
And now for the cherry, my favourite Jolly Rancher flavour. I love these. It's in a deep red wrapper and so it the sweet. These have an amazing flavour. It's not the same cherry flavour a everything else out there. It reminds me of those cheapo round lollipops you can get. It definitely stands out from most other cherry things. Maybe I'll try to get the drink one day....
The box is also nice. There's a little flap on the back which allow you to close the box and not have the top pop open. That's pretty handy
But overall (besides the apple flavour), if you like bold, slap in the face flavours, and prefer to chew things than have sugar floating around your mouth for minutes forming cavities, I can't recommend these enough. I think they're brilliant and will probably get some more at some point
Nine out of ten!

Poppets Strawberry Milkshake
My girlfriend and I went to Truro today and there's an old fashioned sweet shop there. But they also sell other stuff and a small American section too
I found these in said shop
They sound pretty good, but whether they actually are or not... We'll find out
You can just about smell the strawberry over the chocolate
They're not really pink inside like on the box, but more of an off white colour. The inside is quite solid, but bite-able and not too hard. It does taste like strawberry milkshake, but it's not the strongest thing ever, but it goes well with the chocolate. Not bad

Monster Energy Absolutely Zero
I'm not usually a fan of Monster, but this can caught my eye
It's a pretty funky looking can
So this is a zero sugar, calorie free energy drink. I don't get that. Surely if you're wanting energy, you want sugar and calories so your body actually has something to burn? After a spot of research, I've come to understand that caffeine itself doesn't give you energy (as far as I know, only sugars and carbs can be "burned" for energy, but I'm not biologist), but one of its functions is to "tell" your liver to release more sugar into the bloodstream for your body to use. But what good is that if there's no sugar to be released? Obviously there will be from reserves or whatever you ate earlier, but not from this drink. It also blocks adenosine, which is the chemical which tells your brain it's time to sleep. But that doesn't mean you'll have the energy to do stuff, you just won't be able to sleep (as I've found out many times before because of energy drinks)
But don't take all this as a fact, I'm just writing what I'm understanding by reading various materials on the net....
I'm thinking this is more for hipsters who want to look cool by holding a monster can, but also want to fit into the hippy healthy group by not consuming calories or sugar, so they don't end up fat (but if you're having an energy drink, surely you're wanting to do some sort of exercise anyway?)
So anywho, let's pop this baby open and suckle upon its juicy innards
It's the usual urine colour, which pretty much every other drink in this market has, but with a slightly green tinge. It smells mildly fruity, but not all too different from the rest of the bunch. It's sweet, really sweet. And tastes kind of flowery and delicate. There's not all that much flavour to it. I don't really like it, to be honest. But I'm not one to pour money down the drain (these things aren't too cheap) so I guess I better drink it. Unfortunately
This drink isn't for me really and I wouldn't recommend it at all
Two out of ten (Only because it's not gut wrenchingly disgusting)

It ain't half hot today in England....
Just popped into Camborne to pick up some bits and pieces for a BBQ my girlfriend and I are having later on today (People better turn up, half of them we asked didn't get back to us) and I saw this while looking for a pair of tongs in Pound Stretcher
Here be a picture
One I took myself! :o
I couldn't find anything online, picture of info-wise
It's a pack of bitesize chocolates filled with various gooey things! My favourite type of chocolates from things like Roses or Quality Street
Let's rip open the pack and give 'em a go
They're all individually wrapped with various colours representing various types
I think I'll try the crème goo one first. It's in a red and yellow foil wrapper. I imagine this is a crème egg type thing. Yeh, it is. With yellow and white fondant inside. It has a slight fruity-caramely taste to it unlike crème eggs. I don't know if it's what's been absorbed from the other chocolates or what, but it's ok. Not the best
Onto the caramel goo. This one's in a blue and yellow wrapper. Gah! The chocolate has been cracked and it's all stuck to the wrapper >:I
It's a really funny tasting caramel, has the same sort of flavour as the crème but on top of a caramel\fudge-ish flavour. I'm not too keen on this one, to be honest. It's a bit too creamy for my liking
In a green and yellow wrapper is a mint one. This one looks like dark chocolate (ugh). I've noticed that most mint crème chocolates use dark chocolate....
It's not the mintiest of things, but it's a refreshing taste. But I'm not too keen on the bitter taste from the chocolate
Hmmm... Which one now? Strawberry or orange? I think Orange.
This one's in a purple and yellow wrapper (why not orange?) It's really sweet and doesn't have a citrus-ish tang which I like from orange crème things. The orange flavour is only just noticeable
And last but not least, the strawberry one. This one's in a red and blue wrapper. Again, it's really sweet tasting and tastes only just of strawberry. It's more of an artificial taste, in all honesty. Meh, not as good as things like quality street
All in all, if you're after something cheap to share for something like, say, a movie night, then these are probably good for you, but if you're looking for something a bit more than that, I wouldn't suggest these

FUEL 4 ACTION!!!!!!
So it says on the top of the can
There's a picture of it. How wonderful
Looks like just any old cheap energy drink and I'm guessing it's from Poland or marketed to be sold there as there's ingredients in Polish on one side and English on the other
There's the usual crap written on the can, ie. Caffeine, Taurine and the like
Speaking of writing things like that on cans, how come you don't see other food packages with some of the ingredients slapped on the front in big, bold letters? Probably because half of the food sold would just have long chemical names on the front like 2-4-6-trihydrobutanolicpentaphosphatehydroxidecalcifromaldehydro-6-ethanolicaluminibumflakerubidinucleic-4-ol acid hydrate of tin
I just made that up and it doesn't even sound like a real molecule, but you never know.... They only ever write "flavourings". Who knows what that counts as?
Let's give it a go then, shall we?
Smells like any old energy drink....
But it tastes kind of.... earthy. You know when you have potatoes but they still taste a bit muddy? Imagine that slightly muddy flavour in an energy drink on top of the usual "fruit" flavour (Most of them say fruit flavour, but I can never tell which ones?) and you've got this. It's slightly vegeatble-ish
I guess it's drinkable like every other average copy-cat energy drink available on the market, but it doesn't stand out from the crowd. Why should I buy this one over, say, Emerge or Rockstar? Mostly because it's fairly cheap. I think I paid 25-30 pence for this, so I guess I can't complain. You get what you pay for, right?
Four out of ten (Get rid of the funny mud taste and it'd be a five)

Pussy
First of all, what a funny name, haha
Except on my can it has the "uss" starred out. Maybe because I bought it in Tesco and they're not allowed to show it because it's a family store? I dunno....
It's a pretty sleek looking can, kind of modern looking
The back says (It's a funny font and kind of hard to read) "A refreshing sparkling Lychee and Grenadilla flavour juice drink made with 100% natural ingredients including botanical extracts and caffeine"
That's a rather fancy flavour, but what the hell's grenadilla?
Anywho, let's give it a taste. I can't wait to taste this pussy (LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL)
It smells really fruity and kind of mango-and-passionfruit-ish.
Ugh, it doesn't taste as nice. It tastes somewhat watered down and musky.
And slightly bitter too
Nah, this isn't for me. I'm not really a pussy guy, more of a boob guy, haha
Oh dear, the jokes you could make with this drink....
I'll save them for later

Mogyi Micro Pop Cheese Flavour
How odd...
It looks like this but in English :o
It's in the microwave as we speak and I can hear it popping from upstairs....
Powerful stuff, haha
As well as being my first experience with foreign cheese flavoured popcorn, it's also my first experience with micro popcorn. I've added a bit of salt to these too
They smell rather nice, kind of like cheesy mash. And they taste ok too just a hell of a lot of them, haha. I didn't think there'd be this much....
They're not the cheesiest of things, but it's a nice flavour when you hit some. Maybe I'll melt some cheese on top or something
They're a bit dry, but very addictive. Pretty good. If I were in the shop again, I'd probably pick up another packet

Lolidarność Mister Ron
Here's something I picked up in the Polish supermarket on another trip into today today
Luckily the pack I found had some English on too, so I could actually find out what they are
They're a strawberry and cream thing covered in chocolate. Or something like that. They sound pretty nice
They're individually wrapped and about 2cm in diameter. You can smell the strawberry and chocolate as soon as you open the bag. Now let's open my mouth and try one. It's not a liquidy-caramely-fondant type thing, kind of the same texture as a crumbly fudge. The chocolate on the outside is slightly dark (I'm not a fan of dark chocolate), but the inside has a really delicate taste, really creamy
If they used milk chocolate, it'd be a lot better, but they're not bad

Pawatek Cherry
Here's one of the chocolate bars I picked up from the Polish supermarket
Unfortunately I can't find a picture on the internet anywhere, nor a website for them. Here's a crappy picture from my brother's iPod
This is basically a chocolate bar with a cherry flavoured fondant on the inside (with alcohol ;) )
The alcohol content, according to the ingredients, is 2%
Now that's the same as Asda's smart price lager. Maybe if you have enough of these, you get drunk? Maybe I'll try it one day....
But you don't even need any ID to buy these, even with the moderately high alcohol content. But I ain't complaining
I've already had these before (and things similar to it. Maybe they're big in Poland?), so I know I like them. Expect more reviews of various other flavours
Let's crack it open ;D
The chocolate taste isn't the most noticeable thing ever over the cherry flavour. But the cherry flavour is amazing. It's much better than most cherry flavour things and it actually tastes somewhat reminiscent of the fruit (unlike most things)
You can feel the alcohol with a slight warmth on your tongue and a slight bitter taste, but it blends really well
Overall, I think these are great, and at only 30 odd pence a pop, I'd definately go back and get some more
Nine out of ten!

Charleston Chew
Well, well, well.... It's artificially flavoured! :o
What a surprise!
You can smell the vanilla through the pack. It's a nice smell
So this is nougat covered in chocolate. Let's give it a go
The chocolate taste is really nice and it's soft and gooey on the inside. Really soft. Usually nougat nougat needs a bit of chewing before it softens up, but this is almost marshmallow like. It's not too thickly covered in chocolate, it's just about right. Imagine a milky way with a bit more chew to the inside
Pretty nice

Hools Energy Drink Tequila Power
I picked this up in the Polish supermarket the other day. I saw it and though "Tequila flavoured energy drink? Odd...."
I think the can I have has been re-marketed for the UK market. The ingredients are in English and so is one side of the can
I've never tried tequila before and I've heard it's not the nicest of drinks. But I thought it was something different, so why not, eh?
It smells kind of odd, but as if it is supposed to be an alcoholic drink. It's the same colour as pretty much every other energy drink out there
Time to give it a go.... I'm not looking forward to this, it smells nasty Dx
Well, it tastes a lot better than it smells. Really sweet and has an after taste similar to that of rum (I've tried rum before. Is tequila similar to that?)
I can't say I prefer it over most energy drinks, but it's drinkable. Once you get past the smell, it's not too bad, I guess. I'm sure people who like tequila would like this more than me.
Five out of ten. I probably won't buy it again though

Pork Farms Toastables Bacon And Brown Sauce
I've just got back from work and before I go back to sleep, I thought I'd punish and torture my mouth and digestive system with on of these
I actually did this one in the toaster, but it got a tad burnt on the edges. On the back it says "Pork sausage meat, smoked bacon and brown sauce"
21% of it is filling. That's more than the last one. Maybe it's better
It's slightly crispier, but in more of a flaky pastry kind of way. But like the other one yesterday, there's no taste of the filling. When I bought this, I was expecting a slice or two of real bacon smothered in brown sauce between the bread\pastry type thing. I really can't taste the saltiness from the bacon nor the tanginess from the brown sauce
I'm a big fan of bacon baps with brown sauce, but, Pork Farms, you have let me down. You are no longer my friend :(
I was hoping this one was better with being toasted and the better flavour, but, boy, how wrong was I?
I suppose I better finish this atrocity off before I let it go mouldy in some distant corner in my room, forgotten by the rest of the world
I give it a TEN OUT OF TEN! For blandness....
For the product itself, two out of ten

Pork Farms Toastables Cheese And Ham
Here's something I found in the pound shop up town in the fridge. Usually I don't trust things in the pound shop fridge (the bacon's always a funny colour), but this sounded pretty good. I also picked up a bacon and brown sauce one, but I'll try that another day
I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered to get the toaster out, so I put it in the microwave for a minute. I'm sure they'd be much better from the toaster, including crispier (it seems kind of floppy at the moment). So it's basically cheese and ham (or a mush of said ingredients) in pastry somewhat representing that all time favourite breakfast food item, toasted bread. On the back it says "...crisp golden pastry". Crisp? Crisp? Hahahaha.... I'll try the other one in the toaster and comment on the crispiness then. But this one is about as flaccid as... <Insert your own comment here>
So onto tasting it....
It's really bland and tastes just like pastry. I can only just notice any kind of filling. The texture feels the same all the way through. Soggy pastry with soggy pastry on the inside. I wouldn't be surprised if this was literally just a lump of pastry, because that's what it tastes and feels like. There's no slice of ham in it, so it has to be all mushed up with "cheese"
I just read the back and there's 6% reformed ham, 5% processed cheese and 4% cheddar cheese. So that's only 15% filling. I was right, this is basically a lump of pastry.
If you love chewing on cardboard, then this is the snack for you! 8D
It's a good idea, but really poorly executed

Thank god I've finished that....

Pr1mo High Revs Stimulation Drink
While I was in town today, I popped into Lion Food Centre which is a like a big eastern European (I think) supermarket-type-thing. Most of the stuff in there is in what I'm guessing is Polish and a lot of the stuff doesn't have English on the back either, just other languages like Czech or Hungarian. But they do have some English stuff.
I bought a couple of energy drinks and a couple of chocolate bars.
But today I'm gonna wet my whistle with Pr1mo High Revs Stimulation Drink! :o
I've never seen this drink before and it looked rather interesting, so naturally I bought a couple
Sorry for the not too good picture
On the back it says it's a strawberry and kiwi flavour stimulation drink. That's the same flavour as Fanta beach (which is awesome!) which, unfortunately, has been discontinued. So maybe I can get this instead. But at 70p a can, maybe I won't.
It's a pretty cool looking can. I'm assuming it has some sort of connection with racing.
Anyway, let's put another shrimp on the barbie! I mean, open it... *Ahem*
It smells really strawberry-ish and kind of sweet
Oh wow! That's nice! I mean really nice. I can't say I can notice the kiwi, but strawberry flavour drinks aren't all too common in the UK. It tastes like Ribena strawberry but with that slightly metallic taste you get with caffeine drinks
Pretty good. I probably wouldn't go all the way into town for just this, but if I were up town, I'd definitely walk the way to pick some up
Eight out of ten! If you see this anywhere, then I urge you to try it ;) You shan't regret it

Skittles
Here I have 3 packs of Skittles all the way from America :O
Wild Berry, Blenders and Tropical. In the UK, we can only get plain, sour and crazy cores. I'll be giving a description of them, but not review them (I'm feeling lazy. Maybe I'll do it another day)
So, I'll start of with the UK packs.
Here's the plain fruit one
There pack I have here with me has a competition on saying "Win nearly 50 pound". What an odd prize, haha....
Anywho, the flavours are strawberry (red), blackcurrant (purple), orange (orange), lime (green) and lemon (yellow). I believe these are the same as in the US besides their purple skittle is grape (*cough* soap) flavour
I like these, they're pretty good. The red and purple are my favourites ;)
Today I've also put some of them in a bottle with some vodka in the hope it'll produce a decent drink. I've heard it's nice
Then we have the sour ones
They're not all too sour, just have a slight tang to them. Anywho, the flavours are pineapple (yellow), raspberry (pink), orange (orange), apple (green) and cherry (purple)
Then recently the crazy core flavour has emerged
These ones are a bit different.... They're nice, but not the best. I prefer the sours, in all honesty. The flavours are.... I don't know, haha.... They used to say on the pack, but now they don't. I'm sure you'll find out ;)
So now to the US ones I have
I think I'll go with the wild berry flavour
Here's a picture
It's a different type of pack than the ones on the UK market. And it weights slightly more (by six and a half grams! :o )
So the flavours are raspberry (blue), strawberry (pink), melon berry (green. What the hell's a melon berry?), berry punch (purple. Watch out, it's gonna smack me one) and wild cherry (red. There doesn't seem to be domestic cherries in the US. They're all feral and will rip your limbs off if you come near their nest)
These are artificially and naturally (there's hope for America yet!) flavoured
Let's crack these bad boys open, shall we?
They look the same size and shape as the UK ones, but the strawberry one is a realyl funny off-pink-ish colour. Kind of like a bad sunburnt colour
This guy here has a strawberry skittle on his head (They do look this colour, no kidding)
Hey! The purple one I picked out doesn't even have the S on it >:I
So I'll start with red one. Wild cherry. It's that "cherry" flavour you get all the time. As far as I can remember, cherries don't actually taste like that.... But it's a fairly nice flavour I guess.
Onto the green one, young knave! Melon berry :o I've never even heard of that... Is it just a generic melon crossed with a generic berry flavour? I know melon berry is one of the crazy core flavours in the UK though.... So let's see.... It's odd, I can't quite put my finger on the flavour. It's familiar to me from somewhere, like I've had it before. Probably the crazy core flavours, but yeah.. It's ok, better than the cherry one
No to the berry punch, please don't mug me! :'( Oh wow, this one's nice. It tastes like the generic fruit punch flavour though, and it seems to have a "cool" tasting flavour.
Strawberry, prefer yourself for digestion! Hmm... It tastes like the strawberry from the UK fruit pack, except a bit creamier. It's nice. Best one so far
And now for the last one, raspberry (blue, what a surprise, eh?). I'm hoping this is a nice flavour as raspberry is my favourite fruit flavour :3
It tastes like raspberry jam (you know how jam tastes slightly different from the actual fruit?) Skittles have done raspberry justice. Kudos to you Skittles. Kudos to you
Overall, these are pretty good. On the rate-ometer it scores a delectable eight and a half out of ten :o
Now onto the blue pack, the tropical one
Here's yet another picture :o
Contained in the depths of this pack, hoarded away from my prying eyes are the flavours of pineapple passionfruit (blue), banana berry (yellow), mango tangelo (orange), kiwi lime (green) and strawberry starfruit (pink)
Let's crack 'em open! HYAH!
I'm gonna start with the orange one, mango tangelo, simply because I have no idea what a tangelo is. *Googles it* Oh wow, haha. It's like an orange with a nipple on top *immature moment*!
It just tastes of orange, if I'm honest. Nothing special in my eyes. Maybe I'm just being dumb and not noticing the mango.
Now for the banana berry one. I'm not a fan of bananas, but I don't mind banana milkshake. I've never really had anything else banana flavoured. But hey, this is quite nice. You can really notice the banana and the berry is also there to give it a slightly less tropical taste to it
Limes are one of my least favourite fruits, so I'll go for the kiwi lime flavour next. I've only ever had a kiwi when I was really young, so I can't remember what they taste like. This is the niest flavour I've had so far
Now for the strawberry and starfruit. I've never had a starfruit before, but they look interesting. Maybe I shall have to invest in purchasing one from supermarket over yonder in the near future. These ones are sunburn colour too. hmm... It's an odd flavour. I'm not too keen
And last but not least, the most, in my eyes, tropical sounding flavour in the pack. Pineapple passionfruit. Hmm... It's kind of musky tasting, I don't like this one.... Skittles, I am disappoint
I'll give this pack a mere 6 out of ten
And now for the final chapter of our adventure today, Skittles Blenders
This pack's full of interesting sounding flavours (all of which seem to be trademarked...)
And they are melon berry burst (blue), strawberry lime blast (pink), cherry tropicolada (red), watermelon green apple freeze (green) and mango lemonade freeze (orange). Maybe the "freeze" flavours have a menthol kind of thing going on?
Let's try the cherry one first. It has an interesting name. It's a funny taste, ugh. Not really too nice, but I recognise it from somewhere....
How about the strawberry lime one next? Yes, that sounds like a plan. The lime is really overpowering in this one. It's quite a strong flavour. It tastes like some drink I've tried before. Here's a picture
The mango lemon freeze one is next. It taste like a slightly tropical lemonade. Nothing too exciting.
Now the watermelon green apple. The melon is really noticeable in this one. I can't even taste any apple at all really
And the last one, melon berry. It tastes pretty much the same as the melon berry from the wild berry pack. How original....
I've noticed that in pretty much all five of these flavours, I can only really notice one of the fruits from it. I'll give this the same rating as the last pack, six out of ten
There's loads more flavours of skittles, but I'm not too sure where I can get them one. I really want to try the chocolate ones :D

Herr's Jalapeño Popper Cheese Curls
So now I'm down to the last savoury thing from my shipment from the Stateside Candy Co. :(
These sound really good. Jalapeños - good, cheese - good, crisps - good
What could make for a better recipe?
I've tried making my own jalapeño poppers before, and they're awesome!
I might have to make more one day....
These smells pretty darn good. Let's hope they taste just the same
They taste kind of like a spicy version of Dairylea. The flavour's not a intense as the other pack I've had, but it's a much nicer taste. There's the right amount of spice to leave a tingle on your tongue and the cheese isn't overpowering. Yeh, these are really nice :D
I think I'm gonna have to order some more soon
Therefore, I shall award them with my highest rating so far! Nine out of ten! :D

jolly Rancher Watermelon Drink
Today I've got a nice, big bottle of soderp, I mean soda, on my desk
Here's a picture....
It's an awesome bright red colour (Chemicals maybe?)
It's 591ml which seems like bit of an odd amount for a bottle, but America still uses the imperial system (We do with some things, but not all)
I've had Jolly Rancher sweets before, and they're really nice. I'm hoping this is the same :D
It best still be fizzy....
Huzzah! It is!
MMMM.... It smells so artificial! 8D
But a nice artificial :3
Let's give it a go....
It's pretty sweet, but the flavour is kind of week. If I remember correctly, the sweets had a tang to them? This doesn't. The flavour's not as strong as the sweets either.
It's too sweet for my liking
I don't think I'll be buying this again, but I might try the other flavours available
Rating time! :o
I tinik I'll give it a 5 out of ten ;)

Herr's Buffalo Blue Cheese
So here I am sat at the computer again with yet another bag of American goodness! :o
Herr's Buffalo Blue Cheese flavour cheese curls!
On the top it says "Over baked with real cheese!", but being American
, it's most likely the most minuscule amount of cheese you cold imagine.
Well, would you have ever thought of it?! Cheese is actually high up on the ingredients :o
I've only ever tried blue cheese once when I was a lot younger, but I've had buffalo wings\buffalo sauce a few times. I have a bottle of the sauce in my drawer as we speak.
Going by the packet, these look akin to Wotsits here in the UK
Let's pop this bad boy open and give them a whirl....
WOW! These are massive! They're bigger than my little finger, haha
They smell kind of nasty, that strong, sour smell some cheese have. I'm assuming that's what blue cheese smells like
Mm... They're fairly spicy and you can taste the cheese flavour pretty well. They melt really easily in my mouth leaving a pleasant tingle from the spice behind. The flavour is pretty intense, the crisps themselves are generously covered in flavouring. The cheese is really strong with a fairly sour taste and kicks your tongue into submission, but it gets a bit too much after a few.
There's not too many in the pack, but I guess that's made up for with the size and the intense flavour
Overall these are pretty damn good. Well done, America! Have a sticker *Gives a sticker*
I want to give them a nine out of ten, but the cheese overpowers the buffalo taste a bit more. I'll be awkward and award them eight and a half out of ten ;)

Rockstar Recovery Lemonade
So I've just got home from work and I'm knackered. But I need to go have a shower, tidy my room, get dressed and prepare myself mentally and physically for a day of doing bugger all. What better way to give me the boost I need than a nice, cool energy drink from the fridge?
Here's a picture
It's a pretty cool looking can
In my opinion, that seems to be the main focus of drinks like these and Relentless or Monster. They're like the fashionable thing to be seen drinking
I'm happy with a 29p can of Emerge, to be honest
It has the usual crap on the can. Taurine, Ginseng, Caffeine, blah blah
Not long ago, I found out that the taurine contained in drinks like these is actually nowhere near the levels needed to have the desired effect of the chemical

Here's an extract from the Wikipedia page
A review published in 2008 found no documented reports of negative or
positive health effects associated with the amount of taurine used in
energy drinks, concluding that "The amounts of guarana, taurine, and ginseng found in popular energy drinks are far below the amounts expected to deliver either therapeutic benefits or adverse events".
Occasionally at work I'm out in the car park cleaning. The amount of cans from Rockstar and so on I find is imense D:
Anywho, stop rambling, Danny. Get on with it!
It's non-carbonated, so that's gonna knock a few points off my rating.
It smells like real lemon, unlike the cheapo 18p lemonade you can buy from Asda or Tesco. It tastes really sweet with a slight bitter undertone from the lemon.
But lemonade should be fizzy!!
Make this fizzy, a bit cheaper (These things are around £1 to £1.50 for a half a litre can in the UK), let the lemon keep some of its kick and you've got a great drink ;)
But then you'd end up with normal lemonade.....
It's ok, but I wouldn't buy it regularly due its price, and the fact it's not carbonated
I give it a 6 out of ten! :oThursday, 26 July 2012
Chex Mix
Another American snack! :o
This time it's Chex Mix
Apparently a "bag of interesting" according to the back. Guess what else the back says? Yup, artificial crap again! Oh, how I love chemicals! :3
I got these for 15p and they're about a fortnight out of date, but hey, I'm not fussy. All the chemicals shall stop any degradation! 8D
These look kind of like an elaborate version of Cheese Savouries which we can get in this country pretty cheap.
Oh, go on then, let's open them up....
Ugh, they smell nasty.... Is that a Shreddie in there? Maybe these have been knitted by nanas too. But I guess that's better than the jumper with a reindeer on with the big, sticky out, bobbly, red nose you get every year for Christmas that you'll only wear when you go round and wear those stupid little paper hats which tear at the slightest whisper of air. There's also a ring, a window, a triangle and some wiggly thing. The circle and window shape look like the same type of thing as a pretzel. The triangles are intensely orange compared to the others.
I suppose it's time to try them, eh?
The window.... No cheese flavour at all, just a pretzel thing. And the same for the ring. How about the wiggly thing? Every so slightly cheesy, barely noticeable. Now for the shreddie. Slightly more flavour, but not really cheese flavoured. There's a slightly nutty taste But nicer than the others so far. Now for the triangle. These look like they've beaten all the other shapes into submission so it can steal their flavour. Hmm, they must've got arrested and had the flavour confiscated because there's still not a lot
Oh, hang on, a super flavour saturated shreddie... Ach! That's not a nice taste. A really funny, off-tasting "cheese" flavour.
The pretzel pieces taste kind of like breakfast cereal.
Cheddar cheese is the only cheese-looking ingredient on the list and it's 3rd from last. I don't know about the US, but I think in the UK, the ingredients are listed from most to least. If it's the same other the pond, then I'm not too sure how they can pass these as "cheddar" flavour. It should say "funny chemical, nasty fake cheese flavour" on the pack.
The range of shapes are a really good idea, there's different textures and tastes to the actual pieces, but the cheese flavouring.... No..... It's not too nice, to be honest. If the flavouring was decent, then I'd give these a maximum of 7 or 8 of ten, but other than that, I'll give them a 4
America, you ain't got nowt on our cheese savouries, bitch!
This time it's Chex Mix
Why's it say Brand Snack underneath the logo? |

Combos Jalapeño Cheddar Tortilla
While I'm waiting for the Simpsons to start on channel 4, I thought I'd do another review. Yet another product from the Stateside Candy Co
Here we go....
I'm not entirely too sure what to expect from these, but the flavour sounded good, hence why I bought them. Only 59p ;)
So let's open them up....
But first, a quick look on the back, and guess what? Yup.... There's artificial flavourings in them (Surely it's easy enough to make cheese and chilli flavour?)
Anywho, as soon as I open the bag, I can smell them. It smells cheesy and chilli-ish. That's a good sign. They look like cylindrical biscuity\crackery things with some sort of soft cheese stuff in the middle and some salt sprinkled on top (is it salt? It better not be dandruff....)
Here's a picture of them
Tasting time! :o My favourite part....
Hmmm... Not the strongest flavour in the world, but a nice one. I can't really taste any chilli, but I can feel the slightest kick of spice in the back of my mouth and throat. They taste familiar. Sort of like Tuc sandwiches except with a kick, here's a picture of them
There's not a great deal in the pack, maybe 18 or 19 and they're about half the length of a double A battery.
If I order from this site again and these are at the same price, I'd definitely buy them again
Here we go....

As I'm eating these, the spice I'm feeling in the back of my throat is getting stronger with each one
But overall, pretty nice, shame about the weak chilli flavour, but well worth checking out ;)
A seven and a half out of ten ;)
Yoohoo Chocolate Drink
What's better to have on a nice, sunny day than a cool, ice cold can of foreign drink that you've never heard of?
That's right, a bucket of KFC to go with it.
Oh, and some jungle being blasted out of some speakers
But unfortunately, I'm lazy and I can't be bothered to walk that far or get the bus
I saw this under "Soda" on the Stateside Candy Co's website. I'm not too sure what this is exactly. Is it a milkshake? Is it chocolate water? There's no milk in the ingredients, but there's things like whey and dried milk
I'm not too sure what to expect, to be honest....
99% fat free and 99% caffeine free. Darn! That's no good, is it?
Right then, let's crack it open. It smells nice, just like any old chocolate milkshake, kind of creamy. I'm gonna go get a glass. It doesn't feel right drinking milkshake from a can....
It looks like milkshake, albeit a bit thinner. Let's get on with it and try it....
Wow.... That's nice. Really nice. It's got a creamy taste to it. The chocolate isn't too dark (I can't stand dark chocolate), but it tastes kind of synthetic (but then again, what isn't synthetic in America?), but it's nice nonetheless
In all honesty, I was slightly scared of trying this in fear that it was fizzy (fizzy chocolate-ade? Dafuq?) because it was in the soda category.
Hmm... The after taste isn't as pleasant, but that might be just because I had fish fingers and chips for dinner, so don't let that put you off, haha
There's a few bits floating around the bottom of the cup, but I'm hoping they're just clumps of cocoa powder.
I'm glad I put this in the fridge the other day, I imagine it's not so good warm
I paid £1.20 for this, so I probably won't be getting it again seeing as you can buy ordinary milkshake a lot cheaper, but if you see it, I'd recommend it just to try it ;)
8 out of 10 :o
I think that's the highest rating so far!
Well done, Yoohoo, well done indeed....

Brain Blasterz Brain Bitz
I picked these up in Asda the other day
There's two flavours in each box and there's two boxes. Lemon + Raspberry and Apple + Strawberry
Here's the best picture I could find
I imagine these are basically the same as Wonka Nerds
It's a pretty cool looking box with some guy's skull having his brain exploding out of it. I wonder if this will happen to me.... Well, I'd need to get a brain first, haha
I'll try the apple and strawberry one first
Eh? How do I work this box? It seems like you can open it at the bottom. It's not glued shut or anything. What if you're walking around and then suddenly it opens and they all fall on the floor? What would you do?
Pick 'em up and eat them anyway, of course! ;)
I'll just open them like a normal box, never mind the funny contraption to pour them out.
They look like Nerds, just without the glossy coat.
So, the apple ones.
They're crunchy with an initial tang, but that soon wears off and it's just sweet tasting. It's a funny tasting apple flavour. A bit too sweet and artificial flavouring. The ingredients just say "Flavourings", so there's no telling if it's fake or real, but I'm guessing fake
Gah! All the strawberry ones have gone and clumped together and aren't coming out of the box >:I Damn you, humid weather!
Same thing with the tang wearing off, but hey, these ones taste nicer. Same taste as strawberry millions. Not bad ;)
So now I'll give the Lemon and Raspberry flavour a go. :O For once, raspberry flavour isn't blue!
Again, they're not coming out of the box.
The lemon ones kind of taste like those lemon scented wet wipes you get when you order takeaway from KFC or somewhere. Slightly medicinal.
The raspberry ones have a fairly powerful flavour. They kind of taste like parma violets... But I can just detect a berry flavour. Ugh, I just got a nasty stab of bad taste from them too >.< But ignoring that, they're ok
Overall, they're not bad, kind of like the poor man's Nerds. At least Nerds don't all clump together. But these are more sour than Nerds, so there's a bonus ;)
Sour things are good
Six out of ten, biatcchh!!

Andy Capp's Cheddar Fries!
Hellooooo
Here I have another item from my order from the Stateside Candy Co.
Andy Capp's Cheddar Fries! :o
Here's a picture
There appears to be some sort of cockney\farmer on the pack, haha
There's not a lot interesting on the pack, but wow! Look at the list of ingredients....
Oh, what a surprise. Artificial flavours and colours!
So these are a corn and potato snack, and I'm assuming cheese flavour....
Let's open them up....
It's the usual deal with crisp type things, half a pack only and the rest is air
They smell like generic cheese and onion crisps. So let's try one....
They're pretty easy to bite through, like those salt and vinegar sticks you can get. The flavour's not all that strong, but it's a kind of toasted cheese flavour and slightly herby.
I picked these up for only 20p because they were about a week out of date (at the time of ordering), but I'm not fussy, it's only a week....
Maybe they'd taste a bit stronger before the date, but I don't know....
They have a funny, slightly off-tasting after taste
So let's give them a rating....
I'd give them a 5 out of 10
I probably wouldn't buy them again unless they were dirt cheap. If you see them cheap, give them a go, but otherwise, naaaahhhh, don't bother

Now & Later
So here I am on a really nice, sunny, hot day in England, which happens less than seeing flying pigs, but instead of going outside and soaking up the sun or absorbing vitamin D, I'm sat at my PC eating sweets and writing about them....
So here's something I got from the Stateside Candy Co.
Here's a picture....
It's a nice looking package (That's what she said, haha)
After looking for some clues, I managed to decipher what flavours are to be contained within. Cherry, Blue Raspberry (of course. Because red raspberries don't exist in America) and strawberry. All artificially flavoured (Because otherwise it'd be too healthy, haha).
So I'm assuming this is a berry flavour pack? I don't know if there's any other flavours. Google images comes up with grape, lime and strawberry flavour too. Maybe I'll look for it one day.
On the back it says "Serv. size: 9 pieces, Servings: about 2"
So 18 is about two lots of nine, is it? I thought it was exactly two lots of nine? Maybe they just guessed with the maths?
So anyway, let us open this packet!
Oh, hello.... Inside are three smaller packets. Each packet has 6 of one flavour. This is handy.... I wish other sweets did this. Wouldn't it be great to think "I want this flavour....", open it at a certain end and receive said flavour no matter what? That way you could skip the crappy flavours like lime!
Now to taste test. I'll grab the red one first. Cherry.... I'm imagining these are like Chewits or Starburst. So this is a really nice looking red colour. Doesn't really smell of much, but I can just detect a hint of polish... (No kidding...)
Hmm... It's not the strongest of flavours, has a slight tang to it. It's kind of Dr Pepper-tasting, but with a tad more cherry
It's not too easy to chew, in all honesty. Maybe it'll get easier as I go along
Arrgh! It's getting stuck in my teeth! >.<
So that's the cherry one down, not bad.... I think I'll do strawberry next and save the raspberry for last (Raspberry is one of my favourite fruits)
This one's in a deep magenta-ish colour wrapper. The actual sweet is the same colour as the last one. Smells like that fake strawberry scent you get on those inflatable rubber balls, ya know? Let's pop it in, shall we?
Yes.... It really tastes like strawberries..... NOT! It's similar-ish, but not close enough for me to actually say it's strawberry. If I was given this not being told it was strawberry, I'd be struggling to guess the flavour. It's a nice flavour nevertheless
Now that one has been masticated, ingurgitated, digested, absorbed or whatever, the blue one is calling on me.
Oh, wow. This is a really nice blue colour. It smells kind of funny like the cherry one. The flavour is somewhat weak compared to the other two, but there's a nice little tang to it. But it doesn't have that generic "blue" flavour a lot of "blue raspberry" or blue coloured sweets have. It's slightly different. It's pleasant for my tongue
Overall, they're not that bad. They're a bit hard (It must've been like eating pebbles before then?) and the flavours are strange. Sometimes I wonder if the Americans have even tried fruit before, haha. It says "long lasting chews" on the pack, but that's not true if you actually chew them. I imagine they can last a fair while if you just pop them in and suck it though
I'll give them a six out of ten. If they were a bit softer, then they'd get bumped up a notch to seven
That's it for this review. Maybe I'll write another one later. I have a lot of stuff to get through. Yay! Cavities and malnutrition!
Auf Wiedersehen, meine Freunde!
